Description

The Lawson Digi-Dry Box is a specialized direct-to-garment (DTG) ink curing dryer engineered to properly cure water-based digital inks, pretreatment, and traditional screen printing inks. Designed for print shops in St. Louis, Atlanta, and across North America, the Digi-Dry Box combines high-intensity quartz infrared heat with a powerful air-evacuation exhaust system. This dual-action system pulls moisture down through the garment while simultaneously curing the ink deposit, producing soft-hand DTG prints that feel more like a traditional screen print than items cured with a standard heat press. Equipped with an automatic energy-saving timing cycle and adjustable temperature controls, it rapidly cures garments in 30 to 90 seconds while minimizing fabric scorching.

The LWG Difference

  • Local Fast Pickup & Demo Centers: Collect equipment in as little as 1 hour from corporate hubs in St. Louis, MO or Atlanta / Marietta, GA.
  • Dual Quartz IR & Moisture Evacuation: Combines quartz infrared heating elements with forced air evacuation to pull steam through shirt fibers for a complete cure.
  • Energy-Efficient Auto Cycle: Automatically powers down heating elements when not in use, reducing electric consumption and room heat buildup between garment loads.
  • Full-Service USA Support: Made in the USA with direct access to factory technicians, domestic replacement parts, and flexible equipment financing solutions.

Features

  • Quartz Infrared Heating: Delivers instant, high-intensity heat to rapidly set water-based DTG inks and plastisol inks.
  • Air-Evacuation System: Pulls steam and moisture out of heavy cotton garments to prevent trapped water from ruining the ink cure.
  • Automatic Digital Timer: Controls every step of the curing cycle with precision settings from 30 to 90 seconds.
  • Anti-Scorch Protection: Even heat distribution and timed cycles minimize scorching on delicate tri-blends, polyesters, and light fabrics.
  • Compact Footprint: Fits easily into tight shop spaces while offering a spacious single-drawer garment chamber.

Comparison Table

Feature | Lawson Digi-Dry Box | Standard Heat Press Curing
Hand Feel | Soft, retail-ready finish that feels like traditional screen printing | Firm, plasticized feel caused by flattened garment fibers
Moisture Evacuation | Air evacuation pulls steam through and out of the garment during cure | Traps steam under the heat press platen, leading to incomplete ink curing
Fabric Safety | Auto-timer and quartz IR minimize scorching on delicate garments | High risk of scorch marks and press lines on polyester and tri-blends
Operator Efficiency | Load garment, press start, and walk away to print the next shirt | Requires manual clamping pressure and constant operator attention

Questions & Answers

Q: Why is the Digi-Dry Box better for DTG curing than a heat press?
A: Heat presses trap steam under the platen and flatten garment fibers, creating a stiff print. The Digi-Dry Box uses quartz heat and air evacuation to draw moisture out of the fabric, leaving behind a soft, durable finish that feels like traditional screen printing.

Q: Can I use the Digi-Dry Box for curing plastisol inks?
A: Yes. The Digi-Dry Box cures plastisol inks faster than standard flash units or drawer dryers while reducing the risk of scorching or burning white shirts.

Q: How long does it take to cure a DTG shirt?
A: Typical cure times range from 30 to 90 seconds depending on the garment weight, ink deposit depth, and whether pretreatment is present.

Q: Where can I see or pick up the Digi-Dry Box?
A: You can schedule a demonstration or pick up equipment at Lawson Workhorse Group facilities in St. Louis, MO or Marietta, GA.
