Questions & Answers

What is Fluorescent Orange 154 best used for?
Flo Orange 154 is best for high‑visibility fluorescent orange graphics on sportswear, spirit wear, race and event shirts, safety apparel, and fashion prints where you want a strong neon orange that stands out on blends and polyester.

Is Flo Orange 154 low‑bleed and low‑cure?
Yes. Fluorescent Orange DI‑154 LB is a Low‑Bleed, Low‑Cure Dynamic Ink that cures at about 270–280°F at the ink film, helping eliminate dye migration on polyester, 50/50s, and other tough “bleeder” fabrics.

What kind of finish and opacity does it have?
Flo Orange 154 has a semi‑gloss finish and is described as opaque, giving it strong coverage and a bright fluorescent appearance while still maintaining a printable, smooth hand on the garment.

Which fabrics can I print with Flo Orange Dynamic Ink?
Dynamic Fluorescent Orange is formulated for cotton, 50/50, and tri‑blends, and is particularly recommended when you need better opacity and bleed resistance on polyester and blends. For soft‑hand coverage, Lawson suggests 196–305 monofilament mesh.

Do I need a white underbase on dark garments?
For dark shirts, you’ll get the brightest neon effect by printing Flo Orange over a clean, opaque white underbase. On white and light‑colored garments, it can often be printed directly for a softer feel and still‑bold fluorescent orange color.

What flash and cure settings should I start with?
Lawson recommends flashing Dynamic inks at approximately 220°F for about 3–5 seconds, then curing Flo Orange at 270–280°F at the ink film, confirmed with a donut probe or temperature strips to ensure full cure and bleed resistance.

Is Flo Orange 154 press‑ready, or do I need additives?
Fluorescent Orange DI‑154 LB is press‑ready out of the bucket, with a creamy body and minimal screen build‑up, so additives are usually unnecessary. If you do add curable reducer or soft‑hand base for specific effects, do so in small test batches and always re‑check cure, opacity, and bleed resistance.

How do I clean up Flo Orange on press and in reclaim?
For quick on‑press color changes, Lawson suggests using a press wash; for reclaim, use an ink degradent to remove Flo Orange from the mesh before stencil removal or full reclaiming. Any conventional plastisol wash‑up system is compatible.

What kind of mileage can I expect from a gallon?
Flo Orange 154 offers excellent mileage, with Lawson indicating approximately 800–1,750 square feet per gallon, depending on mesh count, image area, and ink deposit, which works well for both local shops and higher‑volume contract printers.

Is Fluorescent Orange Dynamic Ink compliant for kids’ and retail programs?
Yes. All Dynamic inks are non‑phthalate and lead‑free, formulated as premium plastisols that meet modern apparel expectations, so when properly cured, Fluorescent Orange 154 is suitable for children’s garments and retail work.

  • DESCRIPTION

Fluorescent Orange 154 Dynamic Plastisol Ink (Flo Orange) is a bright, high‑impact fluorescent orange plastisol designed for bold, eye‑catching prints on today’s cotton and poly‑blend garments. It’s a Low‑Bleed, Low‑Cure Dynamic Ink with a semi‑gloss finish, opaque opacity, and a smooth, creamy body that’s press‑ready right out of the bucket for both manual and automatic presses.

Dynamic Fluorescent Orange DI‑154 LB is one of Lawson’s premier plastisol screen printing inks, offering excellent opacity and some of the best bleed resistance on polyester, 50/50s, and blends. This ink is formulated as a low‑cure plastisol, typically curing at 270–280°F at the ink film, which helps prevent dye migration even on the worst “bleeders” while reducing scorching and shrink on heat‑sensitive garments.

Flo Orange 154 is ideal for high‑visibility and fashion work: team and spirit wear, race and event shirts, safety and promo garments, and youth apparel where you want a vivid fluorescent orange that really pops. On dark garments, it’s most often printed over a bright, smooth white underbase to maximize brightness and opacity; on light garments, you can often print directly for a softer hand with strong neon color.

Like the rest of the Dynamic Ink Series, Fluorescent Orange 154 is non‑phthalate and lead‑free, offering vibrant color, a soft hand, minimal ink build‑up on screen, and excellent mileage—roughly 800–1,750 square feet per gallon, depending on mesh and coverage. It works with all common direct emulsions and capillary films, cleans up with standard plastisol wash‑ups, and fits seamlessly into shops printing for customers locally in St. Louis, across the Midwest, and throughout the U.S.

Dynamic inks help screen printers in cities and regions of all sizes—whether you’re printing fluorescent orange team shirts for a local school, safety gear for construction crews, or merch for events—by giving you low‑cure, low‑bleed performance that’s easy to run on your existing manual or automatic press.
