Questions & Answers

Where can I buy or arrange local pickup for the MEM TQ-4050 Press locally?

You can securely place your order online and choose convenient local pickup at either the Lawson Screen & Digital Products corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO (Penrose Street) or our Atlanta area branch in Marietta, GA (Cobb Industrial Drive). Local pickup can also be coordinated through our satellite offices in Phoenix, Orlando, and Des Moines.

Does the MEM TQ-4050 require an external air compressor?

Yes. Because it utilizes automated pneumatic pistons to apply deep, consistent pressure without manual muscle, a separate external air compressor is required (not included). To ensure consistent, high-volume cycling, Lawson recommends a compressor with a minimum of a 1.3 HP motor paired with an 11-gallon holding tank (or a minimum 1 HP / 8-gallon setup for standard cycles).

How does the semi-automatic shuttle mode function?

The press features a manual/semi-automatic toggle switch. When flipped to semi-automatic mode, you simply glide the upper platen head to either the left or right end stop. The moment the head reaches its terminal position over a station, the machine triggers automatically and clamps down without needing button prompts. On manual mode, you slide the head over and activate the cycle using the two-hand safety buttons.

Is this specific heat press well-suited for high-volume DTF transfers?

Absolutely. The 16" x 20" platen layout perfectly accommodates standard direct-to-film (DTF) gang sheets and oversized jersey prints. Combined with the self-pressure balancing system and pneumatic down-force, it guarantees the complete adhesive powder fusion required for long-lasting washability.

What are the technical utility and electrical specifications?

Despite its heavy-duty industrial framing, the machine is highly compatible with basic workshop environments:

  • Electrical Specs: 120 Volts Standard Plug-In / 17 Amps / 1,800 Watts of total drawing power.
  • Operating Limits: Temperatures up to 500°F (260°C) and digital cycle timers from 0 to 999 seconds.
  • Physical Machine Footprint: 41" L x 27" W x 46" H with an unboxed weight of 320 lbs.

Are crating and freight shipping fees included in the baseline online price?

No. Because this commercial dual press ships securely bolted to a shipping pallet to prevent damage, standard carrier ground rates do not apply. Shipping, crating, and heavy carrier freight charges are not included in the baseline price and will not reflect in your initial checkout cart total. A Lawson logistics specialist will contact you directly following order placement to provide a final customized freight quote.

What type of manufacturer warranty protection is included?

To protect your equipment investment and keep your fulfillment workflow running smoothly, the MEM TQ-4050 comes backed by a standard factory parts warranty alongside Lifetime Factory Online Technical Support provided through Lawson.

Can I finance the MEM TQ-4050 Dual Station Heat Press?

Yes! If you are expanding a high-volume direct-to-film print shop, bundling this machine with commercial graphics plotters, or setting up a multi-station apparel line, flexible equipment leasing options are available. You can apply quickly and securely via our Lawson financing page.

MEM TQ-4050 Heat Press (16" x 20" Semi-Auto Dual Station Pneumatic Machine)

Are you looking to scale up your custom t-shirt or sportswear fulfillment without burning out your operators on labor-intensive manual clamshell machines? The MEM TQ-4050 Heat Press is an industrial-strength, pneumatic double-station masterpiece engineered by MEM for maximum output. Featuring a versatile 16" x 20" workspace size, this heavy-duty commercial powerhouse bridges the gap between boutique decoration and automated garment manufacturing by maximizing heat platen uptime.

The primary production advantage of the MEM TQ-4050 is its smooth dual-station layout paired with automated pneumatic pressure. While the upper heat head is locked down executing a cycle on Station A, the operator has a completely safe, heat-free zone to prep, lint-roll, and align the subsequent garment on Station B. Operating in your choice of manual or semi-automatic modes, the integrated air cylinders deliver deep, uniform, and repeatable pressure across the entire platen, entirely eliminating the uneven contact spots common with physical clamp levers. This package comes fully loaded with a built-in, commercial-grade laser alignment guide system that projects clear crosshairs across your workspace to ensure perfect graphic centering. Highly optimized for fast-paced processing of DTF transfers, high-volume sublimation prints, screen printed plastisol transfers, heat transfer vinyl (HTV), and embroidered patches, it utilizes a thick cast-aluminum heat plate paired with an anti-static Teflon sheet to guarantee smooth, scorch-free transfer bonds.

Equipped with a robust 320 lb industrial steel frame, two-hand safety circuit controls, and digital temperature readouts up to 500°F, this high-performance system plugs right into common shop outlets to streamline your production department.
