What materials can the xTool F2 engrave and cut?

The dual-laser setup allows you to process over 300 materials without changing tools:

• 15W Diode Laser (455 nm): Engraves and cuts wood (up to 15 mm basswood), dark opaque acrylic (up to 12 mm), leather, paper, MDF, and felt.
• 5W Infrared Laser (1064 nm): Directly engraves and marks bare metals (stainless steel, gold, silver, platinum, copper, aluminum) and plastics without needing spray coatings.

How does the camera and autofocus system work?

The integrated 50 MP camera provides a live workspace view in xTool Studio. You can drag and drop your graphics directly onto the live image for $\pm 0.1\text{ mm}$ placement accuracy. The machine also features automated focus height adjustment.

Can I use both lasers in a single project?

Yes. In xTool Studio, you can assign different layers of a single design to either the 15W diode or the 5W IR laser so the machine automatically switches between cutting wood and marking metal on a composite item.

Does the xTool F2 support larger projects or curved objects?

Yes. While the base working area is $115\text{ mm} \times 115\text{ mm}$, you can attach an optional Slide Extension to expand the working path to $115\text{ mm} \times 400\text{ mm}$ for batch runs or longer materials. It is also compatible with the RA3 Rotary Attachment for cylinders, tumblers, and rings.

Is the xTool F2 safe for public events or small workshops?

The xTool F2 features a fully enclosed housing with safety filtering. However, because the enclosure can be opened during operation, it is classified as a Class 4 laser device. When operating indoors or on-site, it should be paired with an active smoke exhaust or an external desktop air purifier to handle wood resins and laser fumes safely.
