KEEP IT CONTAINED
Keep DTF powder in its original container with the lid securely closed whenever it is not in use.
USE PROPER VENTILATION
Work in a well-ventilated print area and use the filtration system built into your DTF shaker.
USE BUILT-IN FILTRATION
LWG DTF shakers use HEPA and activated-carbon filters to help capture fine particles and reduce odors during powder curing.
WEAR APPROPRIATE PPE
Use appropriate gloves, eye protection, protective clothing, and respiratory protection for your process, workspace, and equipment. Ensure all protective equipment is properly selected, fitted, maintained, and used.
CLEAN IT CORRECTLY
Use a suitable HEPA-filtered vacuum for escaped DTF powder and spills. Clean work surfaces routinely to prevent powder buildup.
WASH UP
Wash hands after handling powder and before eating, drinking, smoking, vaping, or touching your face.

Inspect and replace HEPA and carbon filters according to the equipment manufacturer's maintenance recommendations.

Best starting point: Keep DTF powder in its original closed container. For secondary containment, use a sealed Rubbermaid-style tote with a tight-fitting lid, a gasket-sealed storage tote, or a sealed 5-gallon bucket with a lid. Secondary containment can help protect against spills, contamination, and moisture while reducing the chance of loose powder becoming airborne.

|
Treat a home DTF workspace with the same care as a commercial shop. Whenever practical, use a dedicated garage, workshop, or print room; keep powder sealed when not in use; maintain good housekeeping; provide appropriate ventilation; and keep the process separated from bedrooms, kitchens, children's play areas, and pets.
Consider an air scrubber. For home or enclosed workspaces, a properly selected air scrubber with suitable particulate filtration and, where appropriate, activated-carbon filtration can provide an additional layer of air cleaning. It should supplement—not replace—source control, shaker filtration, routine cleanup, and ventilation.

Is DTF powder safe to use at home?
DTF powder can be handled more responsibly at home when the work area is dedicated, well ventilated, regularly cleaned, and separated from living spaces, food, pets, and children.
Can I sweep spilled DTF powder?
Avoid dry sweeping because it can put settled powder back into the air. Use a suitable HEPA-filtered vacuum for powder spills and routine cleanup.
Can I use compressed air to clean DTF powder?
No. Compressed air can create airborne powder clouds and spread powder onto nearby surfaces, equipment, and clothing.
How should DTF powder be stored?
Store DTF powder sealed in its original container when possible. Secondary containment in a sealed tote or bucket can provide additional protection from spills, moisture, and contamination.
Do I need ventilation for DTF printing?
Yes. Use a well-ventilated workspace, maintain your shaker's filtration system, and avoid curing powder in enclosed living spaces without appropriate ventilation and air cleaning.
