In-Line Numbering Machine: Efficient Athletic Number Printing

The Lawson In-Line Numbering Machine is ideal for printers where numbering garments is a significant part of their business. Constructed from sturdy tubular steel, this press offers a reliable base. It allows printing of one- or two-color numbers from 0 to 99. For two-color numbers, the press holds two screens with pre-exposed numbers from 0 to 9.

One screen is attached in a standard clamshell configuration, pivoting up and down over the platen, controlled by gas shocks. The second screen moves horizontally on nylon rollers, allowing it to slide over the platen while the first screen operates in clamshell mode. Both screens are pre-registered and exposed at the factory for precise alignment.

The platen is a standard wood design with a laminate covering, attached via a support arm on rollers. This allows the platen to be positioned under the desired number for printing.

The registration system uses a visual grid along the press’s length for each numbering position. A guide on the platen support arm aligns with the grid, ensuring accurate placement for single-digit, left-digit, or right-digit printing in double-digit numbers. This system enables quick and precise platen positioning.

The visual registration system is easy to learn, allowing one- and two-color numbers from 2" to 12" to be printed quickly and accurately.

In addition to the two ready-to-use screens included with the press (with your choice of style), additional screens with various numbering styles and sizes are available. You can also purchase film positives for any of Lawson’s available styles instead of pre-exposed screens.
