Questions & Answers

What is Bright Red DI-502 best used for?
Bright Red is best for team apparel, school colors, spirit wear, corporate logos, and general screen printing that needs a bright, clean red with good opacity.

Is Bright Red a low-cure ink?
Yes. Lawson lists Bright Red DI-502 as a low-cure plastisol that cures at 270–280°F, which helps reduce heat stress and dye migration on blends.

What finish does Bright Red have?
It has a semi-gloss finish with semi-opaque opacity, so it gives a clean red look without being too thin or too heavy.

Can I use Bright Red on cotton and 50/50 garments?
Yes. It’s designed for cotton, 50/50s, and blends, and is a good everyday red for general garment printing.

Is Bright Red ready to use?
Yes. It’s Ready for Use (RFU), so it’s creamy and ready to print straight from the bucket in normal shop conditions.

Can Bright Red be used on both manual and automatic presses?
Yes. It’s made for manual and automatic screen printing machines, which makes it useful in shops of all sizes.

Is Bright Red a good option for nationwide shops?
Yes. It works well for shops serving customers nationwide, including printers in St. Louis and Marietta, GA.

Do I need an underbase on dark garments?
On dark garments, a white underbase usually gives you the brightest, most accurate red. On light garments, Bright Red can often be printed directly.

How do I flash and cure Bright Red?
Flash at approximately 220°F for 3–5 seconds, then cure at 270–280°F at the ink film, using a donut probe or temperature strips to confirm.

What’s the best way to clean up Bright Red?
Use a press wash for on-press color changes, and an ink degradent when removing the ink before reclaiming. You can also save the stencil if needed.

How should I store Bright Red?
Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat, ideally below 95°F. Keep it under one year from the manufacturing date.

Why choose Bright Red over a darker red?
Choose Bright Red when you want a vibrant, eye-catching red that reads strongly on press and on the shirt, especially for youth, sports, and event work.

Bright Red DI-502 Dynamic Plastisol Ink is a ready-for-use low-cure plastisol built for smooth, consistent printing on cotton, 50/50s, and blends. It’s part of Lawson’s Dynamic Ink series, which is known for bold, vibrant colors, a soft hand, and easy printing on both manual and automatic presses.

This Bright Red RFU has good opacity for everyday garment printing, especially when you want a bright, clean red that looks right on press and on the finished shirt. Lawson lists it as a low-cure ink curing at 270–280°F, so it helps reduce heat stress and dye migration while still keeping production fast.

Bright Red is a solid choice for team uniforms, school spirit wear, corporate logos, event shirts, and retail merch that needs a strong red tone. If you need better bleed resistance on polyester or heavy blends, you can pair it with a low-bleed white like Plus White DI-1550 LB or use a Dynamic low-bleed red for tougher garments.

As a Dynamic ink, Bright Red is creamy out of the bucket, prints with minimal screen build-up, and works with all common direct emulsions and capillary films. It’s non-phthalate, lead-free, and designed for shops serving customers nationwide, including printers in St. Louis and Marietta, GA.
