Epson Polyester DTG Pretreatment Solution | Optimized for Polyester Fabrics
Note: Read the Polyester Pretreat Guide & FAQ for detailed instructions.
Epson’s Polyester DTG Pretreatment Solution is designed for direct-to-garment (DTG) printing on T-shirts, hoodies, and other garments with a moderate-to-loose weave containing 50% or more polyester. For garments with 50% or more cotton, use a cotton pretreatment solution, such as Lawson’s Image Lock RFU.
Available in an 18-liter (approximately 4.75-gallon) container, this pretreatment solution should be used undiluted for dark fabrics or diluted with distilled water at a 1:6 ratio for light-colored fabrics.
Application Instructions: For optimal results, use the Lawson Zoom-AE DTG pretreatment sprayer. Agitate the solution before use and periodically if it has been sitting. Never mix pretreatment liquid with ink or ink waste, even during disposal. Adjust nozzle settings on the sprayer when switching between cotton and polyester pretreatment solutions to account for differences in viscosity and application volume. Contact Lawson at 314.382.9300 to discuss maximizing results, as polyester DTG printing differs from cotton.
Epson UltraChrome DG Ink, developed for DTG printing, is ideal for customizing T-shirts, polo shirts, jeans, sweats, tote bags, tea towels, pillowcases, cushions, caps, hats, and shoes. It adheres best to fabrics with a moderate-to-loose weave and high cotton content but is also compatible with various natural, synthetic, and blended fabrics. Results vary, so pretest for print and wash durability before production. Note that the ink may not adhere to fabrics with a very fine weave, extremely smooth finish, or water- or dirt-repellent treatments.
