What is a hover press and how does it benefit DTG printing?

A hover press is designed specifically to emit radiant heat just millimeters above a substrate without making direct physical contact with the garment. This specialized hover mode allows water-based DTG inks and pretreatment solutions to flash-dry and cure perfectly, completely preventing the ink from smearing, ghosting, or shifting underneath a heavy heat platen.

Can this machine be used for standard HTV or DTF transfers?

Yes! The Hotronix Hover Press features a dual-function design. With a quick adjustment, you can switch it from hover mode into standard auto-open clamshell mode. In this setting, the press will lock down firmly for high-pressure applications like DTF transfers, screen printed transfers, heat transfer vinyl (HTV), and sublimation, opening automatically when the timer expires.

What is the Twin Timer feature and how does it work?

The built-in Twin Timer™ allows you to program two completely independent sequential time settings. For example, you can set Timer 1 for a 30-second hover to flash-dry a print, and Timer 2 for a subsequent 10-second lockdown press to flatten fibers, streamlining your production workflow without resetting the machine between steps.

Is this machine compatible with custom platen sizes?

Yes! To increase your shop's structural versatility, the Hotronix Hover Press is fully compatible with the Hotronix Heat Press Caddie™ Stand for full garment threadability, and it works seamlessly with select Quick Change Platens so you can easily swap lower beds to print pockets, sleeves, or youth apparel.
