Lawson is the best place to learn how to screen print with our hands-on immersive screen printing class in St. Louis.

Learn how to screen print! Whether you are looking to start up a screen printing shop, print out of your home or basement, or DIY screen print, Lawson can help you. This intensive two-day screen printing workshop is great for the beginner printer. You will learn how to do everything, including artwork preparation, screen making, exposing, printing, and clean up. You will also explore topics such as mesh counts, emulsion over mesh (EOM), how to print/flash/print, and proper drying times. This is a hands-on course, where you will be printing and completing every step under the guidance of one of our instructors or technicians.

We offer this class monthly at our St. Louis, Missouri facility and our Atlanta, Georgia office. Each student gets hands-on practical t-shirt printing experience and a broad range of information for textile printers. The class is designed to teach you everything you need to know about how to start screen printing, from chemicals and emulsions to the print phase and the cleaning stage—learn it all! Students will also take home Lawson's "Garment Printing Made Easy" workbook and shop setup suggestions.

Covered in this silk screen course:

  • Guidelines for T-shirt design and separation
  • Screen mesh selection and stretching
  • Capillary film and direct emulsion coating
