Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need special "all-black" ink to make film positives with an Epson printer?
No. While some older systems required all-black conversions, modern printers like the Epson SureColor P900 use high-density UltraChrome PRO10 ink. When paired with FilmMaker 11 RIP Software, you can achieve professional UV-opacity (Dmax) using standard ink cartridges.
What is the difference between the Epson P700 and P900 for screen printing?
The primary difference is the print width. The Epson P700 prints up to 13 inches wide, while the Epson P900 prints up to 17 inches wide and offers an optional roll paper adapter for longer film runs.
Can I print halftones without RIP software?
Standard printer drivers are designed for photography, not screen printing. To print professional halftones and control ink density for exposure, we highly recommend using a dedicated RIP like ColorMate RIP or FilmMaker.
