What is the best emulsion for plastisol ink?

For most textile printers using plastisol ink, we recommend a "Fast-Cure" photopolymer like Lawson SBQ-501 Ultra-Fast Blue Emulsion. It offers rapid exposure times and excellent resolution. If you are working with water-based or discharge inks, you will need a dual-cure option like Lawson Dual-Cure 310 to ensure the stencil doesn't break down during the run.

How do I choose the right mesh count for my screen?

Mesh count determines the amount of ink deposit and the level of detail:

• 61 - 86 Mesh: Best for Glitter Inks or heavy white ink deposits on dark garments.
• 110 - 156 Mesh: The industry standard for most Textile Plastisol Ink applications.
• 230 - 305 Mesh: Required for high-detail halftones, process printing, or solvent-based graphic inks.

What is the difference between spray and liquid platen adhesives?

• Spray Adhesives: Options like Tex-Tite #2 Web Spray are great for quick applications and keeping fleece or heavy sweatshirts in place.
• Liquid Adhesives: Pro-Tac Platen Liquid Adhesive is an eco-friendly, bulk alternative. It lasts longer on the platen and doesn't create the "overspray" mist that can settle on your equipment and floor.
