thermo-tel tapesEach package contains eight strips with five different temperatures (i.e. #5 = 290o, 300o, 310o, 320o and 330o F). When exposed to heat, the strip will darken black, as it reaches that temperature. By looking at the strip, you can easily tell what temperature has been achieved.

To Use: Simply peel a strip off the protective backing and press firmly and evenly on the item you expose to heat. Different substrates/materials react differently to heat. Some fabrics absorb heat faster while other fabric may repel heat. Because of these different materials, the amount of ink deposit, brand of ink, moisture content of the garment, etc., the dwell time inside the heat chamber needs to be adjusted to suite your particular requirements.

Each dryer, each job and each shop is different. As a result, you will need to understand and adjust your dryer. Belt speed, heater element height and jet-air especially affects temperature. Also, always test in a situation that simulates real production. For example, apply the Thermo-Tel on the exact garment type you will be printing on (not a rag, belt or different color) and run the same number of garments/pieces through the heat chamber as you will be doing in production.
