Lawson Expert 1000 PSI Spot Cleaning Gun
The Lawson Expert 1000 PSI Spot Cleaning Gun removes unwanted plastisol ink from t-shirts and other garments. This high-quality, airless spot cleaning gun is ideal for light to moderate-duty applications, featuring a durable all-metal housing, a brass pump cylinder, a large-capacity canister, and a powerful pinpoint stream. It is preset at the factory, and adjustments are typically not required.
Features:
- Housing: All-metal construction for durability
- Spray: Powerful pinpoint stream for precise cleaning
- Pump: Brass pump cylinder for reliability
- Canister: Large-capacity canister for extended use
Caution: This gun generates significant pressure. Never point it at yourself or others, as this may cause injury.
Operating Instructions:
Use with a vacuum exhaust system to remove solvent vapors. Place the stained fabric on a cleaning buck or spot cleaning station. Adjust the nozzle to a pressure strong enough to remove the stain without damaging the fabric. Hold the gun 6–10 inches from the fabric, starting from the outside of the stain and working inward. Immediately after, “feather” the stain by adjusting the nozzle to a fine mist setting and spraying around the area to reduce potential rings on some fabrics. Allow the fabric to air dry or use a vacuum system and/or compressed air to speed drying.
Setup Instructions:
Remove the container, fill it approximately two-thirds full with cleaning fluid, and reattach. Plug into a 110V, 60 Hz outlet. Depress the switch for 15–20 seconds to prime the pump. Spray fluid onto scrap fabric to remove oil film from internal pump parts. The gun is now ready for use.
Adjustable Nozzle: Controls the discharge pressure of the cleaning fluid by rotating the nozzle collar on the front of the gun.
Volume Control Knob: Located at the rear of the gun, it adjusts the volume of fluid dispensed. For cleaning, turn the knob fully left, then rotate right one-half to one full revolution. Once set to the desired pressure and volume, further adjustments are typically unnecessary.
Troubleshooting Minor Mechanical Issues:
- Fluid Leakage: Ensure all parts, particularly the nozzle head and container cup, are tightly secured to prevent fluid from leaking through screw threads. Avoid tilting the gun beyond a 45° angle to prevent leakage from the air hole at the top or prolonged tilting at the container cup.
- Lack of Pressure: Check that the suction tube, set screw, and nozzle head are tight to prevent air intake. Blockages in the pump unit or nozzle, or weak/damaged springs in the pump assembly, may also cause low pressure. Excessive tilting can lead to loss of prime, reducing pressure.
- Operation Without Fluid: Avoid operating the gun empty, as this causes undue wear and strain on parts, potentially leading to breakage and unnecessary repairs.
- Lubrication: Use one or two drops of light machine oil daily to maintain the pump unit. For storage or discontinued use, pump light machine oil through the gun for 2–3 seconds. Before resuming operation, run cleaning fluid through the unit to flush out oily films.
Warranty: 30-day limited warranty. For a model with a longer warranty, consider the Expert 3000 PSI Spot Cleaning Gun.
